Stopping Basement Water Problems with New Gutters in St. Cloud, MN

Michelle reached out to Gutter Shutter of St. Cloud because she was getting water in her basement every time it rained. Her home is about 10 years old and has never had gutters installed — and the long‑term water damage was starting to show.

During our full home inspection, we found several issues caused by years of uncontrolled roof runoff:

The landscaping along one side of the home had sunk, leaving the foundation exposed.
Multiple cracks and open gaps were visible in the foundation walls.
Significant water damage was present at a major roof‑runoff point near the driveway and garage.
Several areas showed signs of soil erosion and pooling water.

Without gutters, all the rainwater from the roof was falling straight down along the foundation, contributing to basement leaks and structural concerns.

Michelle decided that the first and most important step was installing a high‑capacity gutter system to capture and redirect the water away from the home. By controlling where the water goes, she can begin preventing further foundation damage and stop moisture from entering the basement.
